ABOUT BART
Bart Van Kerchove (°1976) takes his first musical steps at the Municipal Academy of Music and Word in Lokeren. He follows piano in Lieve Saerens' class.
From the beginning he improvises his own music, noting his first small pieces for piano solo, such as “De Arend” (1989).
He is a laureate of several national piano competitions such as the Cantabile Piano Competition and Axion Classics.
He then continued his studies at the Hogeschool Gent, Department of Conservatory, where he obtained the Master diploma in Piano in the class of Johan Duijck in 1999, with the highest distinction.
During his piano studies, he continues to follow the Composition course as a secondary subject.
In order to further develop his skills in composition, he follows Composition and Instrumentation lessons with Jan Van Landeghem, at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels ----
